We all need to use our platform for positive change. Our diversity is our strength. Staying silent is not an option.

I sincerely appreciate messages I’ve received from my colleagues who have reached out to check in. I’m hurting as I’m sure you all are as well.

My advice is stay engaged with your community, listen! Really listen to people’s concerns and try to leave your bias behind. Change starts with a conversation which leads to actions that strive for positive outcomes. Systemic racism is a real thing and we need to address it head on. It’s not easy but nothing worth fighting for has ever come easy. Don’t be obliviously privileged.
