AI Governance Is a Board Issue

If your AI program isn't getting the same scrutiny as your cloud or M&A strategy, you're flying blind.

After securing SEAR 1 events like the Super Bowl, one thing is clear: some risks are too complex to live in one lane. AI is quickly joining that category.

It’s not just a tech issue. It impacts compliance, reputation, data governance, business operations, and long-term trust.

In talking to some peers I’m finding that some orgs still treat AI governance like a side project — delegated, siloed, or reactive.

If your AI program isn’t getting the same scrutiny as your cloud or M&A strategy, you’re flying blind.

Boards are starting to ask smarter questions:

  • What AI are we building or buying?
  • Who owns the risk across its lifecycle?
  • How does it align with our trust model?

AI governance isn’t optional. It’s a leadership issue.
