Self Awareness Is a Leadership Skill One of the most valuable investments a leader can make is understanding how they show up, especially under pressure. I recently had the opportunity to work with Poonam Gunjal of Fullmoon Wellness Center in a structured reflection process, both with my leadership team and individually. We explored our strengths, the behaviors that surface under stress, and the values that shape our decisions. What stood out was how this helped us better understand one another. Traits that become detractors in certain moments often come from strengths taken too far. Seeing that clearly improved communication, empathy, and how we support each other as a team. Poonam created a safe space for honest reflection and grounded conversation, which made all the difference. The real value came from the conversations it opened and the shared understanding that followed. What has helped you build greater self awareness as a leader? Share in the comments.
