I’ve been reflecting on my own journey and can’t help but wonder how AI might have influenced some of my decisions if I’d had access to an always available coach. Not someone to do the work for me, but someone to challenge my thinking, explain complex concepts, help me prepare for interviews, refine ideas, or introduce perspectives I hadn’t considered.
That got me thinking…
If AI can become a trusted coach and mentor for millions of people who may never have access to experienced mentors, tutors, or professional networks, the impact could be profound.
I can’t help but wonder whose lives it could change.
If that’s true, the implications extend far beyond the workplace. They reach into our classrooms and communities as well.
As educators rethink the role of AI in the classroom, I wonder if we’re asking the wrong question. Instead of asking whether students should use AI, perhaps we should be asking how we teach them to use it responsibly while continuing to think critically, solve problems, and develop sound judgment.
AI should never replace curiosity, resilience, or independent thinking.
But it may become one of the most powerful tools for accelerating learning, expanding access to knowledge, and opening doors that were once out of reach.
