The proliferation of disinformation in minority communities is a clear national security threat. Most recently, we have seen the effects of disinformation campaigns in our elections and in public health. There have been coordinated disinformation campaigns on elections directed toward minority communities. Throughout this past year’s public health emergency we have seen disinformation campaigns directed toward minority communities on the coronavirus pandemic and vaccinations. Coordinated disinformation campaigns can have a polarizing effect on our nation.”
“This is a responsibility of both the government and the private sector. As we look to act on this threat, we must remember that it is necessary to have diverse voices at every level—from strategizing and analyzing to policy and decision making. In order to properly address this threat, there must be adequate representation of all Americans at the table”
