Politics

January 3rd, 2008

Not usually into politics but I have to say this next election is going to be very interesting.  Is the US ready for it’s first African American or Female president?  Only time will tell.

I’d personally like to see a democratic president irrespective of a woman or AA because it just feels like we need a change.  We’ve been bushed for the past 2 terms and I think the US is ready for some new leadership from a different party.  I know I am!

Quick update - Obama (d) and Huckabee (r) win in Iowa Caucus.

Watch out for timeshare “prize winning” contest from La Mega

December 20th, 2007

Although I like listening to La Mega, it’s probably worth telling a quick recap of a prize I supposedly won in the summer time with La Mega.  They had a contest that if you were one of the 30 callers to answer correctly a question you’d win a prize package to a nice vacation hot spot.

Well long story short, the prize cost 200 plus bucks for processing fee and you had to fly yourself to the vacation hotel.  In addition you had to listen to a 4 hr talk about, well you can imagine.  It had to be about a timeshare.  Long story short, nothing is really free and watchout for these lame radio tactics on behalf of the timeshare companies.

Be Thankful

December 14th, 2007

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don’t know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary, because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings.

What I’ve been up to lately…

August 9th, 2007

Ok so it’s been a few months that I haven’t posted any news on what I’ve been up to.  I could go on and on about how busy I have been filming new projects but the fact of the matter is, I’ve been really lazy and haven’t had the desire to write anything.  Yes I have been working on new projects.  I actually just finished shooting a Heinz commercial that should be posted for a contest on their site in the coming weeks.

I have also performed again the Lead role of Jose in the play “Lessons Learned” in the public schools in and around NYC.  I can still connect with this character because I still remember what it was like when I was graduating Lehman High School and had to figure out what my plan for life was going to be.  The last performance we did in Queens was an exciting one and I felt the audience really connected with the cast.

I’ve also been on a few auditions for other theatre and film roles.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed and keep going full steam ahead because “I know I can” little quote for JC from one of his favorite shows :)
One last piece of news to wrap this up, ActorsConnect.com is still going strong and we are averaging more than a handful of user registrations a day!  This free social network geared towards Actors, directors, entertainers, etc. that was founded a couple a years ago by yours truly me.  We don’t intend to compete with myspace but we do intend to continue to bring castings notices and more useable functions & site content to this very niche market.  Also stay on the look out for some new solutions spewing from the geeky side of my brain ;)
Till then, be well…

Life is like a Yo-Yo

May 11th, 2007

When I think about my youth I remember the days I would play with a yo-yo and I can’t help to think that life is like that.  There are a lot of ups and downs and if you know how to do tricks with a yo-yo you’ll know what I mean when I say you can also have a yo-yo rest at the bottom of the string.  That essentially symbolizes the steady state of your life.

So is having a yo-yo type of life bad?  Well I guess it depends who’s controlling the string in your life and when do you at some point just get a pair of scissors and cut the string.  Or what happens more times than not, someone else cuts the string for you because you never totally have control of your life even though we would always want to believe we have.

Well that’s it for my yo-yo analogy, if you’re curious about what types of yo-yo’s I had when I was younger then feel free to review this website.

Paris a future Jail bird, Say it ain’t so!!

May 9th, 2007

Anyone have any thoughts on celebrities and this weird notion of sending them to jail. Like who would’ve thought that just because you are a celebrity you are suceptable to the same laws as everyone else.

I nearly laughed my pants off when I saw the news clipping of Paris saying that she was being treated unfairly and the crime was too harsh. Growing up in NYC and the streets of the Bronx, I’ve seen a fair share of harshness and going to jail for 45 days should teach Paris a lesson that will stick with her for the rest of her “Simple Life”

The unfortunate part of this is that maybe she is being used as an example for all other spoiled celebrities but oh well, there’s always a first and lucky for us it’s her.

Good luck in jail Paris, I need a new license plate anyway…
