I get my lunch and a slice of cake for desert…I get to my desk and eat a piece of cake before eating my lunch.

In the middle of eating my lunch I look at my cake and i think to myself damn, I got a piece of cake that was already eaten but then I finally remember that my fat boy self ate some of the cake already…doh! Lol!

So I’m driving my dad home today after we were hanging out with my son at his last soccer game of the year.  My dad and I are talking throughout the ride home and as we approach his house in the Bx I see a group of young kids crossing the street.  I turn to my dad and say, wow that kid needs a haircut, my dad turns to me and says, wanna hear something funny?

I reply, what now dad, because mind you we were talking throughout the whole ride and I knew I was in for yet another funny story from one of my dad’s bus ride encounters.  He starts to recount the funny story to me in spanish but here’s the translated version.

“I was on the bus the other day and a young kid gets on the bus and you know how they wear their pants hanging off there butts these days.”   I laugh a bit and reply yeah dad, ”well the kid gets on the bus and the first thing he says when he gets on….it smells in here… so I turn to him and say, it’s probably coming from your butt because you’re walking around with your pants so low that you’re smelling your own ass.  Maybe you should pull your pants up!”

What the kid say you ask?  well he just looked at my dad and then another person on the bus turns to the kid and she says to him “yeah pull up your pants, it’s probably you that smells…”

LOL…Yes, that’s my dad for you…his born on date 1936…gotta love him!

Be careful of the toes you step on today because they might be connected to the ass you might have to kiss tomorrow… ~ES

Heading to PR on business to hopefully bring back some talented individuals to NY. It’s an early flight to Aguadilla and expectation for a very long work day but the trip should be worth it… Love going to mi isla…

Ever wonder what happens if you leave your beer in the freezer for too long?

I agree with everyone that we should never forget the day and those who we lost that were near and dear to our hearts and lives. We should also never forget to continue living. Like every tragedy in life, you have to pick yourself up and attempt to proceed as the constant movement in life should always be to move forward.

Is it me or does it feel like someone turned off the heater outside and left the AC on high? What happened to summer? Feels like it went by very quickly this year! I know I went to the beach and on vacation but I miss the warm rays and warm weather. If I could only hit that jackpot!

What a great movie (Everybody’s Fine) along with excellent acting.  I’m sure everyone can relate with this movie in some way or another. 

We always try to paint the picture to our parents that we are doing the right thing, so that we don’t upset them or dissapoint them.  I see this in my 7yr old where he tries his hardest not to dissapoint me in any way possible.   What I’ve learned in my years, is that parents always know what we are doing no matter how hard we try to cover things up or paint that rosey picture we believe they want to see or hear.   What I also know is that as we grow up, we are under a lot of pressure to please our parents.  It’s in our nature to want our parents acceptance and so even when we try not to stress ourselves, we find ourselves stressed. 

My takeaways from this film, as a son to two loving parents, I must not try to hide things from my parents as to not upset them.  I should reach out to my parents and seek their advice and guidance and be open with them as they have experience in life that may be beneficial.  As a father, I must not put unnecessary pressure on my son.  So what if he didn’t get a few hits in his baseball game.  It’s not the end of the world, maybe he had other things on his mind and didn’t care to much for the sport today.  We all know he knows how to hit and if he’s not having fun at the sport then so be it, it’s time to change to something he enjoys.
