What I’ve been up to lately…

Ok so it’s been a few months that I haven’t posted any news on what I’ve been up to.  I could go on and on about how busy I have been filming new projects but the fact of the matter is, I’ve been really lazy and haven’t had the desire to write anything.  Yes I have been working on new projects.  I actually just finished shooting a Heinz commercial that should be posted for a contest on their site in the coming weeks.

I have also performed again the Lead role of Jose in the play “Lessons Learned” in the public schools in and around NYC.  I can still connect with this character because I still remember what it was like when I was graduating Lehman High School and had to figure out what my plan for life was going to be.  The last performance we did in Queens was an exciting one and I felt the audience really connected with the cast.

I’ve also been on a few auditions for other theatre and film roles.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed and keep going full steam ahead because “I know I can” little quote for JC from one of his favorite shows :)

One last piece of news to wrap this up, ActorsConnect.com is still going strong and we are averaging more than a handful of user registrations a day!  This free social network geared towards Actors, directors, entertainers, etc. that was founded a couple a years ago by yours truly me.  We don’t intend to compete with myspace but we do intend to continue to bring castings notices and more useable functions & site content to this very niche market.  Also stay on the look out for some new solutions spewing from the geeky side of my brain ;)

Till then, be well…

So I hit a bit of a dry spell for a few months but…

I have been picked up to be part of a, what I’ll call an “actor troupe”.  The company is called Winceyco and they are contracted to perform in schools all around the NY/NJ Metro area.

This is a great opportunity for me to do what I love and give back to my community by performing shows that will hopefully help educate our youth.  Therefore, keep an eye out for me and pics of some of the performances that I’ll be acting in.  Above all, wish me luck as this will be only the second time that I’ve ventured into the realm of stage acting :)

Re-Launch of ActorsConnect.com, it’s worth a click…

Calling all those who are in the entertainment industry and want to stay connected with those friends you’ve made over time or just want to meet new ones to let your creative juices flow.  Check out ActorsConnect.com

Site was inspired by all the other social networking sites i.e. Myspace.com but the main difference is that this site is geared towards those in our industry, it’s free, it’s made by an actor —>Me for actors, directors, photographers, etc…

So check it out and let me know what you think… www.actorsconnect.com

Guess who is The Person of the Year? …

I bet you are wondering what am I talking about? Well, Time Magazine every selects a person or persons to be on the cover of their magazine as the selected “Person of The Year”. Would you believe that they selected me??

Person of The Year

Well neither would I… :) However, if you were one of the many people like I was to submit your photo online via their website then you were lucky as I to have it displayed in Time Square.

Therefore, if you were visiting Time Square in New York City on December 9th, you would have seen my face plastered on the TV screen…So what do you think? Do I make a good “Person of The Year” ? … :)

To Model or Not To Model, that is the question…?

So what do you think? Do I have what it takes to do Print work? Well if you asked me, I’d say “no way” but apparently someone liked my mug enough to hire me for a gig :) .

So if you see my face online or in brochures for this company named SAP.com don’t be surprised. Oh by the way, the pay was not too bad and they fed me which is always good and did I mention that I was put through hair, make up and a stylist routine…well that’s the norm, nothing special about that actually but figured I’d mention it.

When I get some snapshots of the shoot, I’ll post them. Until that time, you’ll have to just take my word for it… By the way, the photographer for this gig was Alex Tehrani, he’s really good and I’m happy to be yet another one of the many people he’s taken a photo of.
